Duraloy manufactures cast platens for superplastic forming (SPF) and hot forming presses. The platens can be supplied either as cast for machining by others or completely machined and ready for installation. Materials used for platens include HN, HN + 2Nb, TMA-4505®, T63W®, and Supertherm®. Supertherm® is considered to be the gold standard of platen alloys combining high strength and a low coefficient of thermal expansion for superior performance.
Duraloy manufactures cast tooling for diffusion bonding, hot forming and superplastic forming (SPF) of titanium. The tooling can be supplied either as cast for machining by others or completely machined and ready for installation. Tools can be cast close to shape to reduce machining time and material waste. Alloys commonly used for tooling include HN, HU, MO-RE 49® TMA-4505® and T63W®.
Duraloy can manufacture cast platen bolts in the same alloys as platens and tooling. Using the same alloy for the bolts as the platens and tooling eliminates differences in expansion rates for the materials.
